Frequently asked questions

What is a skin?

A skin is a precision-cut, premium vinyl wrap designed to enhance and protect your device. Think of it like a sticker — but engineered at a much higher standard. Our skins are made from professional-grade adhesive vinyl specifically developed for tech applications: thin, durable, flexible, and residue-free.

Each skin is laser-cut for an exact fit, adds virtually no bulk, and gives your device a refined, custom look while protecting it from scratches and everyday wear.

In short, a Uniqfind skin is the perfect balance of style, protection, and precision — far beyond an ordinary sticker.

Are skins easy to apply?

Yes — very. Our skins use a premium channeled adhesive designed to release air as you go, which means a smooth, bubble-free application every time.

Our YouTube channel has quick step-by-step tutorials that walk you through the entire process.

Applying a Uniqfind skin is simple, satisfying, and takes just a few minutes.

Does a MacBook case damage the hinge or screen area over time?

There’s no evidence that a MacBook case causes long-term hinge or screen issues. Modern MacBooks are engineered with durable hinge assemblies and pressure-tested display panels, and using a case does not interfere with these components.

Apple sells and endorses hard-shell cases in their stores. If cases posed any risk to the hinge or display, Apple simply wouldn’t offer them — and neither would we.

At Uniqfind, we design every case in line with Apple’s standards and fit guidelines, ensuring proper clearances around the hinge, display, and all moving parts.

We also test every design extensively on our own devices before releasing anything to customers. Protecting your tech — without compromising its performance — is something we take very seriously.

So rest assured: our cases are a safe, everyday accessory and a smart way to protect your MacBook.

Does a skin or case effect the MacBook's cooling system?

MacBooks use a closed-loop internal thermal system designed to regulate heat from the inside out. Cooling is managed through:

  1. Internal fans that pull air in and push warm air out.
  2. Precision-engineered vents located along the hinge line (and sides on some models).
  3. A metal internal heat spreader that distributes and dissipates heat efficiently.

A case or skin sits on the exterior shell only — it does not block the intake, the exhaust vents, or any internal thermal components. Our skins and cases do not seal the hinge area or obstruct airflow in any way.

Additionally, MacBook cooling is primarily internal, not dependent on the outer surface. The aluminum shell is not used as an active heat sink, so adding a properly designed skin or case on top doesn’t hinder temperature regulation.

Apple’s own testing allows for cases, and they sell third-party cases directly in their stores — something they would not do if external covers compromised cooling performance.

At Uniqfind, we design all skins and cases in accordance with Apple’s fit standards and engineering guidelines, ensuring proper clearance around vents, hinges, and thermal zones. Every product is also tested extensively on our own devices before it ever reaches customers.

In short:

✔️ Uniqfind skins do not trap heat

✔️ Uniqfind cases do not block vents or fans

✔️ Your MacBook will continue to cool itself exactly as designed

Our skins and cases keep your MacBook protected — without impacting its ability to stay cool.

Will the skin leave behind sticker residue?

Absolutely not. Our skins use a premium, residue-free adhesive — the highest grade available for tech applications. Whether your skin has been on for a week or a year, it will peel off cleanly without leaving any sticky film or damaging your device’s surface.

We test this extensively on our own devices to ensure removal is always smooth, safe, and mess-free.

Skin vs. Skin + Case protection, explained.

It entirely depends on the level of protection you're looking for, for that specific device.

Some prefer the sleek look and feel of a Skin. They protect your device from scuffs and scrapes, and don't add any extra bulk/weight to your device.

Some prefer more heavy-duty protection. If that's you, the Skin + Case protection option is 100% the way to go.

When you opt for the Skin, you get a premium vinyl decal for your device. If a MacBook Skin, you’re able to select the level of coverage you prefer: top, top + bottom, or top + interior + bottom.

If you opt for Skin + Case protection, you’ll get the Skin, plus a Clear Hard Case designed to clip over top of the Skin. Clear Cases can be reused with your next Uniqfind Skin, or on their own.

I have the Air 13-inch, not the Air 13.6-inch — what model do I choose?

Apple refers to the Air 13.6-inch M2, M3, and M4 models as "Air 13-inch".

It can be confusing because it's not the same size as its predecessor, the M1 model, also referred to as an "Air 13-inch". The Air 13-inch M1 model was smaller—13.3-inches.

So, you can rest assured you're selecting the correct model (13.6-inch on our website) if you have the Air 13-inch M2, M3, or M4 model.

Where are your products manufactured?

All of our skins are made in-house at our headquarters in Canada, where we oversee every step of production — from design and printing to precision cutting and quality control. Keeping this process local allows us to maintain the highest standards and ensure every skin meets our exact specifications.

Our MacBook cases require specialized manufacturing technology that isn’t available domestically in Canada. Because of this, we partner with a carefully vetted international manufacturing specialist who meets the same standards we uphold in-house. We work closely with this partner on engineering, materials, fit, and ongoing quality testing to ensure our cases are built to last and align with Apple’s guidelines.

Why doesn’t my tracking number work?

You most likely selected the Standard International shipping service. There is no tracking feature included with this service. This said, it’s still a very reliable service.

If you’d like tracked shipping next time, be sure to select the Tracked International service during checkout.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping time depends on the shipping service selected during checkout. Take a peak at your order confirmation email to see which service was selected.

Where do you ship from?

We manufacture and ship all skin products from our Canadian headquarters. Most case products ship from our US fulfillment partner.

I ordered the Skin + Case system and only received part of my order — what happened?

We manufacture our skins at our Canadian headquarters and ship cases from our US fulfillment partner. So, you order was likely split and shipped separately. This prevent you from getting dinged with tariffs!

If a few days have passed and you still have not received the other part of your order, please get in touch with us at info@uniqfind.com so we can investigate.
